Porcelain veneers

We will only recommend veneers if we can assure that as little tooth as possible is removed and the long-term health of your teeth is not compromised.
Additional procedures, like a short course of orthodontic treatment to move teeth into a more favourable position, may be carried out before veneers are placed to eliminate the need to remove too much tooth structure.

What are veneers?

Thin shells of porcelain cover just the front portion of the teeth that show when you smile. Once your teeth have been modified, veneers will fit naturally and restore proper size, shape, and alignment. With minimal maintenance and maximum longevity, veneers are a beneficial and hassle-free choice for renewing your smile.

How is this done?

Porcelain veneers are as strong as your natural teeth but not more robust, meaning anything that would damage your natural tooth will damage a surface. Before providing you with veneers, we will discuss how you would like your new smile to look and will be planned to utilise digital methods. Our master dental technician will translate this into a diagnostic wax-up, which will help us to visualise the changes and the result. Whenever possible, we will try out the new shape of your teeth, a so-called “trial smile: procedure. Once you are happy with the “new look” of your teeth, we will appoint you the preparation of your teeth for the veneers and you will be fitted with provisional surfaces for about 2-4 weeks. During this time, your beautiful new teeth will be crafted by one of our master dental technicians. Composite veneers

Composite veneers are an excellent alternative to porcelain veneers. They require less removal of tooth than porcelain veneers, and in most cases no removal of tooth structure at all. Control of the final appearance is in the hands of the dentist as they are carefully layered with composite material onto the patient’s teeth. Typically, the end result is achieved over one appointment. They are the treatment of choice in younger patients where porcelain veneers are not recommended. They can also be used as a diagnostic tool to ensure that porcelain veneers will work for a patient. Modern composite materials are strong, but not stronger than natural teeth and not as stain resistant as porcelain materials. These restorations require slightly more maintenance and regular visits to the hygienist to keep them looking polished.

Dental Crowns

Crowns are porcelain or ceramic “hats” for your teeth that conceal cosmetic and functional damage. They are durable and crack-resistant, which makes them a good choice for the chewing teeth (molars) and front teeth that are cracked, broken, or misshapen. A tooth crown can generally last 15 years or more when cared for properly.

Dental Bridges

If you’ve lost a tooth but are not entirely ready to commit to a dental implant, a dental bridge is your next best-fixed option for single or multiple teeth. A dental bridge spans the gap that a missing tooth creates and attaches to your natural teeth on either side. The bridge includes an artificial tooth seamlessly anchored to your existing teeth for proper fit and alignment. The teeth adjacent to the artificial tooth require dental crowns to provide adequate support. Once the restorations are ready, the bridge with the artificial tooth is attached to the crowned teeth. Dental bridges can also be attached to dental implants instead of adjacent natural teeth.

Aesthetic crown lengthening (reducing gum tissue)
